2000 Head Sheep Yard – Cressy, Tasmania

Built Tough. Built Local. Built for Sheep Flow.

Cressy sits in a picturesque pocket of Tasmania’s Northern Midlands, surrounded by fertile plains and framed by views to the Great Western Tiers. It’s a region known for its productive farmland and a long tradition of mixed farming.

A local producer from this region pulled down their old sheep yards and asked Willowdale Rural to design and build a system that makes handling faster, safer and easier.

This new setup comfortably holds 2,000 head of sheep,

It Features:

Large bugle – encourages smooth, natural flow into the race
Adjustable vee race – adaptable for different sheep sizes to ensure they remain in single file
3-way draft – quick, efficient sorting resulting in less labour and time
Diamond pen – easy movement from yard to yard, providing options for handlers when moving sheep

Why this yard works:

This Cressy farmer now has a yard that does the hard work for them, replacing a tired setup with a system that’s strong, efficient and built to last.

Handles big mobs with ease – the 2,000 head capacity provides multiple options to move sheep around efficiently.

Smooth sheep flow – the large bugle and vee race design keep stock moving calmly, reducing pressure and stress on both the people and the livestock.

Faster, safer drafting – the 3-way draft saves time and labour, improving efficiency

Flexible pen layout – the diamond pen and multiple holding pens make shifting and organizing mobs easy.

Built tough to last – Made locally from Australian steel.
